Why price tags matter
A clear price on every shelf saves your staff from answering "how much?" all day and stops customers walking away from an item they can't price. Under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, a shop must display prices — and selling above the MRP printed on a package is an offence.
Choose the right style
- Shelf label — for supermarket and grocery shelves: product, size, big price, MRP and barcode.
- Price tag — compact tags for clothing, cosmetics, mobile accessories and gift items.
- Offer tag — large "% OFF" cards for promotions, Eid and Puja sales.
Printing tips
- Print on A4 sticker paper and peel, or on 120–200 gsm card and cut along the dashed lines.
- In the print dialog set Margins: None and Scale: 100% so the sizes stay exact.
- Choose 21 or 40 per page if you use standard pre-cut A4 label sheets.
Show the saving
When the selling price is below MRP, the tag crosses out the MRP and adds a "% OFF" badge automatically — the single most effective way to make a discount visible.
When prices change often, a POS keeps one price list for the counter, the barcode labels and the shelf tags, so they never disagree.
